I'm trying to translate something from english to french and the translator is asking me whether i want infinitive or imperative..whats the difference??Difference between infinitive and imperative in French?
well, infinitive means the sole verb, like if we speak of it outside of a sentence - like "to ..." in English (to be, to know, to go ,etc.)
imperative means you give an order to someone (go!, say!, etc)Difference between infinitive and imperative in French?
lf you only type the verb it can be infinitive or imperative.
E.g. go out, sortir or go out!, sortez!
